Scarborough, ME – DJ Shaw and the Precision JLM Racing team continued being a model of consistency this past weekend at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, as the team finished in the second position and grabbed their seventh top five of the season in just 13 races to continue their quest for the 2016 Pro All Stars Series North Championship.  Shaw was able to contend with eventual race winner Travis Benjamin, but didn’t quite have enough to get by in the race’s closing laps. “I couldn’t get by Travis (Benjamin) without moving him, he hasn’t touched me all year and I returned that favor, we just weren’t good enough on the bottom,” Shaw said after the race, “We’ve finished second here three years in a row in this race and I want to win of these but we are getting closer and closer and doing good so I’m happy about that.” Shaw would have a hard time getting through the heat race, as he started at the rear of the field and had to work his way up to finish in the fourth position, giving him a 15th place starting spot for 150 lap feature event.  This race was originally scheduled for 300 laps, but mother nature forced race officials to run the event a day early and shorten it to 150 laps. After starting from the 15th spot, Shaw wasted no time in his charge to the front of the field. After just 45 laps, he was already around the 7 of Glen Luce to move into the top five and set his sights on the leaders.  He rode there for the majority of the race, and nearing the finish he found himself in a three way battle for the race win.  Locked between the two 7 cars of Travis Benjamin and Curtis Gerry, Shaw fought hard on the bottom to get by Benjamin, and held ahead of Gerry to claim the second spot. After 13 races, Shaw’s points lead grew over Johnny Clark in the PASS North standings and the team is heading to their home track next at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, New Hampshire on Saturday, September 24th. Shaw came home with a ninth place finish in the last race at White Mountain, and is looking for more this time around at a track he has had a lot of success at before they repaved it during the offseason. Racing will start at 6:00PM on Saturday night. For more information, news and their online store, visit and follow them on Facebook at Precision JLM Racing.
